Australia’s fastest & funniest schools drama competition, the TheatreSports™ Schools Challenge (TSC), reaches its peak at the Enmore Theatre on Sunday June 21st 2026
After weeks of heats & semi-finals involving schools from all over Greater Sydney, the final teams (8 teams in each division) of talented teens are ready to put their skill and courage on show. They will create completely improvised scenes, stories & songs live on stage, with no prep time. It’s thrilling theatre, fuelled by the creativity and imaginations of these brilliant young improvisers.
The TheatreSports™ Schools Challenge Turns 21 !
That’s right, this is the TSC’s 21st year - expect at least one embarrassing speech and, of course, a slide show.
Impro Australia (IA) has been running the TSC Since 2005 - it’s the only schools drama competition of its kind in NSW.
The TSC brings private, public, systemic, single-sex and co-ed schools, as well as home-schooled students, together.
Everyone is welcome to play TheatreSports™ and share the joys of creativity, spontaneity and self-expression.
TheatreSports™ increases students’ listening skills and teamwork, their confidence, as well as strengthening their problem-solving abilities and creative thinking, all in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.
Teams will do everything they can to entertain the audience, impress the judges, bring glory to their school and claim the TSC 2026 Champions Trophy.
TheatreSports™ has been running in Australia for 40 years. It is the inspiration behind TV shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Thank God You’re Here! From our beginnings at the Belvoir St Theatre, we've performed in venues all over Greater Sydney , including The Factory and Enmore Theatres, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Sydney Town Hall and the Concert Hall of The Sydney Opera House. TheatreSports™ has been the training ground for countless Australian comedians & personalities such as Andrew Denton, Ahn Do, Julia Zemiro, Alex Lee, Shaun Micallef, Wil Anderson, Adam Spencer, Michael Hing, Susie Youssef, Frank Woodley, Claire Hooper, Concetta Caristo, The Axis of Awesome, Jay Laga’aia, and many (many) more.
