Colin Hay is returning to Australia with his band, including, from Cuba, SanMiguel Perez (guitar/tres/vocals), Yosmel Montejo (bass/vocals) and Jimmy Branly (drums). Rounding out the front line of the band is Peru’s Cecilia Noël (percussion/vocals) and Grammy Award-winning Scheila Gonzalez (keyboard/flute/sax/vocals) whose family hails from Guatemala. These musicians are legends in their own right, generating a soulful and often Caribbean soundtrack to Colin’s lyrics.
Over the past two years the ‘Colin Hay effect’ has created waves across continents and generations. Colin released his 15th studio album ‘Now And The Evermore’, toured the UK followed by a US tour with Ringo & His All-Starr Band and a long-awaited solo tour in Australia. In 2022 ‘Down Under” was recognised by APRA with the Billions Award for 1 billion streams. In 2023 Colin was summoned back to Australia to receive APRA’S Ted Albert Award for outstanding services to Australian Music. A Man At Work.
"Hay is funnier than most stand-up comedians, with a warmly wry and self-deprecating view of life, the music industry and, in particular, his adopted fellow Australians. His songs, though, are another thing altogether: Full of beauty and poetry, with observations both sharp and delicate, a heartfelt sense of love and melodies to die for." – Patrick MacDonald, Adelaide Advertiser
