In her exciting Sydney Comedy Festival debut, Aboriginal comedian Steph Tisdell delves into issues of identity, what ‘sorry day’ really means from an Aboriginal perspective and discusses the merits of white guilt vs overt racism.
Her mental health struggles culminate in a hilarious journey, ultimately leading somewhere inspirational.
Including an abridged history lesson and policy overview through a comedy rap, Steph hopes Identity Steft can be both a rip-roariously hilarious show with lessons interwoven throughout.
Steph Tisdell is a major up-and-comer in the Australian Comedy Scene.
After cutting her teeth in the UK and winning the Deadly Funny National Grand final in 2014, Steph has been collecting awards and accolades wherever she goes and building an impressive TV, radio and print credit list having appeared on ABC’s Comedy Up Late and Tonightly in 2018.
Steph’s comedy is vulnerable, real and insightful. Her witty observations challenge stereotypes in non-offensive and hilarious ways.
