AUSTRALIAN TOUR SUMMER 2010
The world’s craziest party act returns to sweat it out again this summer. “No one has managed to match his exquisite ear for snagging the best 15 seconds of every three-minute track blaring from your clock radio” – Pitchfork
These days it seems like it ain’t no summer festival season without a Girl Talk party. So in the name of keeping up tradition, Girl Talk returns to Australia for Big Day Out Festivals around the country this January. We are now also pleased announce two headline club shows in Melbourne and Sydney – all show details below.
From Pittsburgh USA, Gregg Gillis – AKA everyone’s favourite “A.D.D top of the pop’s” enthusiast Girl Talk, has earned the rep as the ultimate party act. Infamous for his faster than a speeding bullet sampling, Girl Talk tries to cram as much get-low booty grooves and sugar sweet pop into every moment as super humanly possible. Gregg’s breakthrough record Night Ripper contains 16 individual ‘songs’ that incorporate over 200 samples, including the unforgettable pairing of Elton Johns’ ‘Tiny Dancer’ next to Biggie’s ‘Hyptnotize’. His fourth album and follow up Feed the Animals, comes off like the ultimate blow out party soundtrack. Gillis spikes his signature mix of current smashes, hip-hop, 1980’s pop, 90’s alternative, and classic rock with a slew of wedding-ready staples that slay! Feed the Animals solidified Gillis’ role as the ultimate party starter.
The Girl Talk live show is an off-with-your-top affair. Forget noodling laptop artists and get ready to slop bodily fluids and stand on stage like a mad person when Mr Gillis hits “power” on his PC.
“Feed the Animals offers a new round of associative concoctions ready to blow out clubs this summer and beyond.” – Pitchfork
