After selling out in mere moments on Friday, The Gaelic show for UK wunderkinds La Roux has been upgraded to the Enmore Theatre to meet overwhelming demand. The show will remain on Tuesday 29 September.
It’s with great delight The Frontier Touring Company announces that La Roux – one of this year’s most lauded bands – will perform their first headline shows in Australia this September and October. Performing in Sydney and Melbourne, there will be strictly one show only in each city, ensuring these are some of the hottest tickets in town. Support at both shows will be Sydney’s Catcall.
From a debut single release in late 2008, La Roux’s rise has been swift. Touted as an act to watch in 2009, La Roux exceeded expectations as they unleashed their electro soundscape on the music world, affirming their place as this year’s brightest stars.
The release of La Roux’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album saw them collect a Mercury Prize nomination and headline performances at some of the world’s greatest festivals, making the La Roux story nothing short of astonishing, proving it is not the Year of the Ox, but rather, the Year of La Roux.
Most recently seen supporting Phoenix along the East Coast, Catcall will resume the prowl as she opens for La Roux in Sydney and Melbourne. Named the “next big thing” by the Sydney Morning Herald, Catcall’s impressive fuzz pop/rap hybrid is sure to thrill all in attendance. With a US tour under her belt and a debut album on the way it’s time Australia heard her purr.
