Which all Australian band has played live to the greatest number of people this decade?

THE CAT EMPIRE

DIG THEIR CLAWS INTO MORE LIVE SHOWS SURROUNDING THE ‘LIVE ON EARTH’ CD RELEASE

There aren’t many bands in the world who could lay claim to 666 shows in a 7 year career. There are even fewer Australian bands which could even come THE CAT EMPIRETHE CAT EMPIREwith JACKSON JACKSON, and Jumps spent a month in India, leaving Mumbai just 24 hours before the trouble broke out.

The National Tour will support the Feb ’09 release of a new album - Live on Earth - which incorporates recordings of shows all over the world, spanning the bands career to date. The archives have been raided, and the best takes will be found on a double disc compilation. This is the closest you can come to having The Cat Empire play live in your lounge room.

Joining them on the road are the Paprika Balkanicus (Romania, Serbia & Slovenia). The Cat Empire first met these self proclaimed “masters of great atmosphere” in the wee hours of Edinburgh festival in 2003. Paprika Balkanicus play a fiery blend of Balkan, Eastern European and Gypsy music. Mio Matsuda Japan sum up their show as an “Amazing performance - they hit the audience like a Balkan storm!”
